How a Transplanted Face Transformed Katie Stubblefield’s Life

This is a long story of a woman who received face transplant after blowing off most of her face in a failed suicide attempt. Some of the pictures are pretty graphic but the end result is a woman is living a new life. The transplant was paid for by the Department of Defense as there are so many soldiers out there with horrific wounds to their face. It goes on to mention the military that soldiers want to be able to deploy even with these injuries and by getting a face transplant they would not be deployable. I wouldn't think they are but I dont know. Worth the read.
