My wife and I watch a lot of British television on BBC America, Britbox, and Acorn, where we see blacks and how they're portrayed in British society. Like America, they are variously tolerated, well integrated, and barely acknowledged. Inasmuch as British society is built on class, it's easy to see how the relationships between the various races varies according to class. America being a classless society, it's harder to see any such relationship. Yes, many attempt to portray the divide between rich and poor as "classes", but that theory doesn't hold water, nor does the relationship between races directly correspond to wealth or lack of it. As a postscript to this response, I must add that I'd love to see Idris Elba play James Bond...

Two things come to mind:

1) Neither country is a racists country, but racism does exist. There is a difference in the two. In fact both countries are the least racist countries in that respect. However, many feel that since racism exists and intolerance is added to it, that the whole country is such, nit the case.
2) intolerance and racism are indeed different, though related. I am not sure you could st the countries are tolerant though...there is as large, if not larger, intolerance streak in both countries (especially on the leftists end).
