This must be absolutely terrifying! I have been to Sicily and it is a lovely place.

Lt Col Charlie Brown The Good thing Etna has been Erupting Continuously or at least on and off as long as I can Remember but this is it's Biggest from what I'm Hearing. Breathing Silica Glass (Volcanic Ash) is Never Good Although in Good Time it does Make the Best Soil for Grapes but Short Term the Dangers of Lahars and other Problems are not good.

I was stationed close to Mt.Etna. We got to see all of the fire works every time it erupted.
