SGT (Join to see), everyone (as they should) associates Tex Ritter (shown above) with this Academy Award winning song, but the words and music were written by Ned Washington and Dimitri Tiomkin. So it was the two songwriters that received the Academy Award and not Tex Ritter!
Sure enough, as the song requests, new wife, Amy Fowler Kane (Grace Kelly) did not forsake her husband, Will Kane (Gary Cooper) in the film!
