I don't know if a case involving a police officer is a good test. They already have the scale of justice way tipped their way. Seems like they get fired for some egregious act and just go two counties over and get hired by a different department.

Ask yourself would you rather have Florida's laws or New Jersey telling you to turn in all your magazines of greater than 10 rounds?

All in all I like SYG. And look what happened with George Zimmerman. Sent home with no charges and 45 days later charged with 2nd degree murder. I saw an interview with one of the jurors after the trial and she said that based on the judges charge there was no way they could convict GZ. Of course he was able to raise $2,000,000 for his defense which is a big help.

I agree with all of that. You may recall that the Chief of Police in Sanford was fired after this thing with Zimmerman hit the national spotlight and violence was threatened unless he was charged with -something-. I thought at the time that the Police Chief might not have been fired if he had found SOMETHING for GZ to be charged with immediately. He might have needed to be supernaturally gifted with foresight to see that he needed to get GZ charged, but that is basically why he had to go.
