I am in favor of taking weapons from those who have restraining orders against them for at least a couple of weeks cool down period. People do things in the heat of anger they would not otherwise do given a little time to think about it.

There have been times in my life that various bodily appendages have been brought into play when an attitude adjust was called for. The only person I've ever considered shooting was myself. In a non-combat situation, slug throwers have no business being introduced into the equation. That said, if some group were to come to my house to confiscate my guns, I would most likely react in a very different way. If you decide to confiscate guns from someone, without due process, you're only making a bad situation worse.

The big problem I have with this is it still won't do any good. This does nothing to address the mental health issue we to concentrate on diagnosis and treatment of mental illness. here is a point to ponder if you go to confiscate firearms from a person and assuming that person is still alive what then are the politicians that wrote this law going to write another law to insure that that person get the help they need the answer is no they aren't going to do a damn thing. Reason is because that doesn't fit thier agenda once they take away people's guns problem solved the mental health just goes away magically. Now if they proposed legislation to identify mental health issues and treatment I would get behind that. This legislation is just bulls**t it makes about as much sense as banning a person from getting a drivers licence because they own a cell phone because they might text and drive and kill somebody. Just my take on this let me end with this gun control doesn't work and you can't fix stupid.
