The anti gun crowd doesn't give a rat's backside about these statistics. They don't want citizens owning/carrying firearms. Either they are afraid of firearms or they realize the only way they can really achieve power is to disarm the masses.

So, do you oppose background checks? I know for a fact they work. In the 10 years I worked selling firearms, 5 of which was with my own FFL, I am aware of at least 20 rejections from the system. These all turned out to be because of criminal records, except one which was domestic violence. (I did some detective work to learn the why)
