I disagree with the author. We are not simply a Global Strike Force. We always have been, and continue to be, Air Supremacy; a portion of which is Global Strike. Without Air Supremacy, there is no Global Strike because your bombers get punched out of the sky by...supreme air power.

A good example is the advent of the P-51. It helped our war supremacy by escorting strategic bombers, killing German pilots, and making tactical runs.

The mission of the Air Force is to, "Fly, fight and win". Plain and simple despite the year's of bullshit changes, it all comes back to that smiple mission statement. Does the AF suffer from the fighter pilot mentality? Yes. Fogelman saw it and tried to make changes but was fought every step of the way. The corporate AF mentality needs to go, the AF needs to get back to the warrior's mentality.
