Was this the same polls who said that Mr. Trump had no chance at being POTUS?

2016 taught us that you can't always believe polls but that doesn't mean that they are completely worthless.

PO2 Robert Aitchison - They are not worthless if they fit your political agenda, right?

MSgt (Join to see) - Were I a politician I'd look at all the available polls and weigh each one based on numerous factors including the source (is it biased), track record for accuracy, margin for error, etc but I wouldn't just dismiss every poll just because "polls got it wrong" in 2016.

Do you think that Mitch McConnell is ignoring the polls that show how unpopular the President's position is?

All these investigations in the Daily headlines about Russia this or President Trump's that and special counsel this and special counsel that reminds me when I was a kid growing up listening to the Watergate hearings interfere with my cartoons. Hopefully, we won't have President Trump leave. If so, vice president Pence will do an excellent job. He is also well-liked by both sides.

Capt Gregory Prickett adds in Northern Virginia have begun appearing implying Democrats are attacking nominees based on their religion. Politicians use whatever triggers people.

LTC (Join to see) - his support of the Indiana RFRA (SB 101) caused a number of companies to move out of the state or to halt expansion plans. Companies such as Salesforce.com and Angie's List objected to the law as promoting discrimination against the LGBT community. Even some churches didn't like it, as going way too far.

Capt Gregory Prickett nothing wrong with lgbtq people who are actually working and doing good. I have an lgbtq deadbeat 22 year old step daughter who stays up all night sleeps all day she's not too much different than that Dopey guy played by Gilligan in Dobie Gillis. She has serious mental issues and only as a 9th grade. I remember we had a chief warrant officer 3 transexual here on rallypoint who was the Apache pilot. Nothing wrong with these communities if they are doing good in fact they make more money and have more business opportunities because they don't have children.

Capt Gregory Prickett what I'm trying to say is that that's so messed up. Is lgbtq businesses are selling a service and doing things legally then they should be allowed to do so. I'm really frustrated with my folks singing stay up all night sleep all day deadbeat druggie drop out depressed and watching the grass grow smoking cigarettes one day at a time and doing nothing step daughter that my wife keeps trying to help who is also on welfare so now the Canadian government is subsidizing for drug and alcohol habit. She's been like this for eight years Sirius she comes here about once or twice a week when her money runs out and uses our house or Flop house but my wife he's being given the song and dance by my step daughter to no avail

Come on you guys still use polls to gauge political environment. Yes he's a shit Pres, but these are the same polls that had Hillary ahead of him( yes she won the popular vote). Remember he has a cult following that no matter his level of ignorance they support this man and make excuses for his foolishness. Its evident with his followers here on RP

Look I know we were all in the military (other than the handful of civilian supporters on the site) and no doubt heard and said quite a bit of colorful language but in my older years I try to minimize name calling and vulgarity especially when trying to engage in respectful discussion. :)

In any case I don't disagree that pretty much no matter what he says or does the President will continue to enjoy the support of his "base", I just don't think that his "base" has the political power that he wishes it does.

PO2 Robert Aitchison yes that may be true now because of the govt shutdown which effects a lot his base, but when the gov reopens more than likely he will be back in their good graces. For example Kentucky has NINE of the poorest counties in the country that rely on govt assistance food stamps, section 8 etc. Guess who won majority of those counties lol
