Articles like this really frustrate me. Anti-gun people are probably going to stay anti gun. Gun owners are likely going to stay gun supporters. The ones who are in the middle, see things like this and may actually think there is some truth to his emotional ramblings.
The author throws out a few weak stats, gets emotional, and say that if you put a scope on a handgun, you're an A$$h01e.
He says a handguns only purpose is to kill people.

I carry a handgun on the property for protection from four legged critters.

I didn’t used to carry on my property but after getting between my dog and a badger and having to beat the badger to death with a piece of rebar, I carry on my property.

I carry a gun because of WHO is telling me that I don't "need" a gun. The purpose in carrying a gun is to prevent BEING killed, NOT to kill.
