Florida man spent 41 days in jail for heroin. But it was actually detergent, cops say

Crazy story, apparently this wasn't even a simple mistake, the Sheriff's deputy lied and said that the detergent tested positive for heroin, it was found that 11 different people who he arrested on drug charges were innocent as well. The Deputy has since been fired but it sure sounds like they should be investigated for criminal charges.

PO2 Robert Aitchison Wow - what a disgusting excuse for a Law Enforcement Officer!! I hope that he is put behind bars if it is found that he did this in a malicious manner! I wonder if any other officer's drug kits were doing that?, and don't they do another test when evidence is entered for "safekeeping"?

"Fired" ain't gonna get it. Repeatedly not showing up for your shift on time - fired. Repeatedly losing or mishandling issued equipment - fired. Falsely accusing people of crimes - this needs to be filed under "prosecute."
