CPT (Join to see) mastered this a while back. I never actually saw his tomahawk, but during IBOLC you could notice the handle protruding near his knee, so I assume he strapped it to his leg.

Are you sure that was a handle?

1SG (Join to see), it took a little longer than I expected for someone to catch that.

I have a similar problem, 1LT Christopher Slaughter. I just call it a "leg brace"

And now you gave away my idea and now Seal Team 6 copied it. Thanks for that.

While in Afghanistan back in 04-05, I pulled one of my NCOs aside and told him that if I saw him with a hatchet one more time that I would put it where the sun don't shine. I saw it one time and about lost my mind. One, it is not an issue item, and two, and much more importantly, what is the caption of the Army Times or some other media outlet going to say when they capture that picture at a checkpoint, or after a TIC engagement, or after arriving on scene after a Taliban attack in a village where bodies are dismembered? It was a teaching moment.

The article from DuffleBlog is funny and I laughed when I read it. The story just brought back memories of a time when humor wasn't the answer for everything...
