"In fact, a shooter perfectly applying the four fundamentals of marksmanship, meaning their point of aim is always center mass at the time they fire, will never miss a basic rifle marksmanship target regardless of whether or not they understand bullet drop."

I cringed when I read this. They omitted the essential ESSENTIAL words "a properly zeroed weapon" after the word "fire."

We were rigidly schooled on “Battle sight zero “ this was done back in the Sixties so don’t know if it currently applies, too bad for us that we learned this valuable skill with the M14 only to be issued that crappy M16 in Vietnam, didn’t have to worry about hitting center mass or anything else ,damn thing always jammed .

Sad. By the time I was rotating out of the Army, a NCO friend and myself would turn our rifles sideways and even upside down while shooting at the targets. Could still get sharpshooter with the trick shots, expert without.
