To all my RP Friends,
I posted this short video to my DAV Chapter #90, NOrwood, MA Facebook Page... I am not one to jump out of a perfectly good plane to open air at some fantastic speed as the ground gets increasingly larger, but some of you Paratroopers or Skydivers may enjoy this!!! You may have to scroll down to the actual video once you click on the link box...

"This video is of a high altitude jump training mission by some of our U.S. Army Special Forces Green Berets. Watch as each soldier steps up to the edge weighted down with parachutes and gear, and launches himself into space and gravity with such seeming aplomb.
There is something wrong with the idea of jumping out of a perfectly functioning jet airplane at high altitude, or any altitude for that matter.
Those who have done this know the anticipation, the heightened nerves and the quicker beating of the heart. When it comes time to jump, when the ramp has been opened and you step forward to the edge awaiting the green light, admit it, there is a moment of sanity where you argue with yourself.
At the same time, you may urge yourself, “Come one, let’s go.” And then the inexpressible exhilaration of jumping off into that cold air and the silence."

Video didn't run. I never jumped with the military, but when I was stationed at 29 Palms a bunch of us used to go down to the Elsenore Paracenter and jump. I bought a 28 ft. double L parachute and had a blast! Young and invincible- what can I say.

To see the video, one has to scroll down after you see the linked page... These jumpers appear to be at a high altitude... Makes my heart skip a beat or three!! LOL!

Thanks, I'll try it again. Yeah, first time my heart stoped and kind of lodged in my throat when the jumpmaster called me to the door. But when I stepped out and held the strut, the rush of the wind was exhilarating! Pilot killed the engine, so we were gliding; @ 60 mph wind, it was a bit like riding in the back of the pickup when I was a kid. Only there was no solid bed under my feet! Then I let go and was kind of in limbo, except I went to the hard spread and arch so fast my hand actually hit the side of the plane. It didn't really feel like I was falling, but I was definitely hooked!
