One of the most rational things I've heard coming out of Europe in recent times. War is no longer the purview of nations. It is waged by people against people and disarming your own citizens is to ally yourself with their enemies...

Eastern Europe has become quite the center for clear-headed rational political decision-making. Maybe because they already know what it's like to live under oppression and they don't want to do it again.

With the knowledge citizens are encouraged to defend themselves, it should serve as a huge deterent to terrorist activities.

Nothing like a gaping chest wound to stop a would-be terrorist, or violent criminal.

Sounds like some common sense is still present in Europe! Of course, the memory of Hitler confiscating their guns may still be present in their attitude! I wish we could impress on the liberals in America how important the legal gun owners in our country would be in a true crisis. Japanese Admiral Yamamoto once commented: "to invade the United States would prove most difficult because behind every blade of grass is an American with a rifle."

This mindset is mostly limited to the Eastern European "Slavic" Nations who are now free of the USSR's dominance; the Western Europeans, however, have swallowed the Kool-Ade and still wait for someone else to defend them, no matter the cost.
