We had a Chief Master Sergeant (P) come through OTS with us. He found it all hilarious. So much of that is stuff our SNCOs already know. If you have a Bachelor's Degree and the requisite leadership classes you should be able to apply for an accelerated course.

I'd heard about the program you'd mentioned that was associates only needed, I'm not saying you want or need this, I only suggest it as I know it's real, very svc friendly, a friend did his bach in math through them cobbling together transcripts from three schools, and went Navy PCS using it, they were part of NYS govt, then privatized, I got a 2nd bach in math through them after I was in and had gotten out as well, trust me, they're quite real, just something I figured might interest, honest, enjoy....

SSgt (Join to see) - Exactly. My dad was promoted all the way up the Officer ranks to LTC (O-5) without a college degree. He only went back to school to get his degree because a degree became a prerequisite for promotion consideration to COL (O-6) in 1989. Despite getting his degree, the Army only promoted 11% of eligible LTCs to COL that year. Dad got out. Soon after, Gulf War 1 kicked off.

Yep. Have heard the same/similar stories my whole life. Still wondering why it became a pre-req in the military. Granted, if you want a pilot's slot you should have the aeronautical engineering background to make ground school easier - but not required. I was working towards my commission and one step was to take the CLEP tests. Min 650 Math, the other 4 needed a 600. My lowest score was 750ish. My SAT was 1296. Also had to take the AQT/FAR (Aptitude Qualifying Test/Flight Aptitude Rating) and need a min score of 4/5. Max score was 9/9. I scored 8/9. The highest the University of Washington OSO office had ever heard of. It seems to me that emphasis was put on a degree over merit and aptitude. <sigh/>

I don’t see why not! At the end of the day Senior NCOs are well versed on company grade operations and many of them at BN or higher operations. The Army should take note of this as well!!!!

Yeah, I'd kinda figured it'd likely eventually maybe be copied as an indoc/IOS or direct commission model by the other svc s also as I'd read it, you know?

If you're already an E-7 or above, I hope you don't need a lot of classes or practice on drill and ceremony, wearing the USAF uniform, customs and courtesy, or USAF History. You've already had NCO leadership courses, so you have stored away some of that knowledge. I don't see a problem with a 14-day OTS for Senior NCOs.
