I remember the good old days when we got our water from a pump in the backyard. It was pure and fresh. Then the rice and soybean farmers came in with the worlds largest machines and cleared the old growth hardwood forest and pumped all the water out of the ground to irrigate their crops. Now the creeks, and streams, are full of fertilizer runoff, pesticides, insecticides and fungicides. Even the fish are contaminated.
