Sometimes I am astonished that they are so far off the mark. Let's get rid of them, save the salaries and use it to lower the deficit.

I’m always in favor of a smaller government, but to be fair, the CBO produces static information in a ever changing environment. They are probably accurate at the time of release, but Congress is not static. Further, check on where their input comes from. The old term Garbage in Garbage out (GIGO) comes to mind. Generally, outcomes from CBO are in line with what is desired by the requesting entity.
