However, that political chaos inspired a nationalist movement that reshaped China as we know it, and it was led by one man - Sun Yat-sen.

Dr. Sun Yat-Sen meant well, but China turned out like Russia. Although there were ant-Qing groups, the 1911 Revolution started by accident. Dr. Sun made a deal with a Manchu general to force abdication, but gave up his own position of power. The initial democratic government was weak and corrupt.
