Commander in Chief Donald J. Trump says that "the brand new Shermans and the brand new Abrams" tanks will be at the independence day celebrations, possibly signalling a new variant of the WW2 era Sherman battle tank being released. Or that President Trump has no clue what he's talking about. Probably the latter.

SPC Angela Burnham The 4th of July Parade in Washington, DC will include an M 88 Tank retriever? They are still in service?
NTC - 1976 (?) era; the MSR into Ft Irwin was temporarily bisected while several concrete tank crossing were built for tanks to cross that MSR w/o damaging the asphalt pavement.
Minimal ‘strobe’ warning lites warned of the construction sites for those tank crossings.
The CAARNG MP Desk Sergeant at the time; also a member of the California Highway Patrol and a motorcycle officer for the CHP dismissed my plea for better lighting at those sites.

It's funny that Obama promised the GWOT Veterans a large parade but in 8 years never delivered on the promise. The GWOT parade would have cost much more than what Trump is doing now for the 4th. I think the additional money he is spending is trivial given what politicians regularly blow in DC on politically motivated events.

SPC Erich Guenther - That's Senator Chuck Schumer, not former President Barrack Obama. But I agree, they should have sent the "new shermans" to be in the parade too. You can never have enough parades.
