PO1 William "Chip" Nagel Thanks for the In your face book map.
Some may know but for those that don’t The (Silicon) Valley of Heart’s Delight = well (as in groundwater remediation) an (underground) leader in more ways than one w/more (super) funding than almost anywhere else in the US. The caveat being these are “known” locations. Other buried (non) treasures may not yet have been found here, there and elsewhere around the world. What were once common (right/wrong/expeditious and or just plain stupid) disposal practices have come back to haunt places (with continuously compounding interest). On the plus side, midnight dumping and other less than cute practices has become more widely accepted (by blue, red and green) as being a criminal activity.
All too easy to reverse finger-point what could/should have been done in many but not all cases 50-100+ years after the fact. Lesson learned by many (and regrettably still to this day not all) is spending upfront money on clean/green/common sense practices = far less expensive than the logarithmic cost of circling back.

The Superfund Sites of Silicon Valley
When Federica Armstrong discovered that she lived a mile from one of Silicon Valley’s multiple toxic Superfund sites, she set out to photograph them.
