Sounds like this cop wants to make a name for himself, but it won't a good one.

The lead officer already had a name, but it was overlooked. He had been caught with illicit drugs in his work vehicle on 2 prior occasions, and I believe more were discovered after this "incident."
I can only think of four reasons why an officer would carry crack:
1. To use it.
2. To give it to informants.
3. To plant it as evidence.
4. To sell it.
It was also reported that his application for the warrant falsely claimed an informant had made one or two "buys" from the correct address (they allegedly went to the wrong address).

These often could have been handled better. Hope they are seriously looking into it

I will say this, since I don't know all the facts, no-knock warrants should not be allowed except for the most dire circumstances. It seems a no-knock warrant is a license to shoot first, ask questions later. Hell, there have been LEO's and innocents killed because of no-knocks on the wrong address.
If someone is breaking into my house in the middle of the night; I won't stop to see if they are in uniform, I will fire.
