Good Late Morning/Noontime my RP Brothers and Sisters!
As I looked for a good noon hour song to post, I inadvertently came across "Crockett's Theme"... from Miami Vice, which I used to watch religiously each week! So I thought this might be a great piece of music for my Wednesday Noontime Music Interlude... I am a bit early with that, but in the hopes that some of you will hold of watching or listening to it right away, I am posting it now...
Background:
"Crockett's Theme" is an instrumental song written for the hit NBC series Miami Vice. The surname Crockett refers to Don Johnson's character, James "Sonny" Crockett. The initial version of the theme first appeared in the episode Calderone's Return: Part 1 – The Hit List which aired on October 19, 1984. The song was composed by Jan Hammer and appears on the album Miami Vice II, the second volume of music from the television show. It also appeared on Jan Hammer's 1987 album Escape from Television.
Miami Vice:
This series is largely remembered for the stylish clothes Detectives Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs wore, the soundtrack, and its distinct visuals. But beneath the veneer is a surprisingly dark cop show. The cocaine boom of the 1980s framed many stories about drugs and murder, with Crockett and Tubbs often resorting to violence in the course of their work.
