Just because there's a PhD after someone's name, doesn't mean theyre the best one for the job.

I know this to be a fact, My Sister took that career path, and through her I've met others. Her last two assignments with DoD were Weisbaden AMC and Brooke AMC San Antonio. some here that came Home from the Sandbox in the 2000's may have spoken with her, and hope she helped you. But I knew her before and I know her now. She went into Psychology with the question;"What's wrong with me?", And She's still looking. So I will reiterate, just because there's a PhD after the name, does not mean they have all the answers.
There is no topic for personal anecdotes, I have to put it in something. It's an article from Psychology Today, written by a Psychologist, so psychology here it comes.

I have to say I agree with you SGT (Join to see) I find that people go in for one of two reasons. Either they have problems and want to figure out what's wrong or they've had a run in with the system and want to do it better. Sometimes it is a combination of both.

Lt Col Charlie Brown, A person can tell quickly if the therapist they've been assigned is going to be of any help. If you aren't clicking with the one assigned get another. It's your right as a patient.

I was told by an ex-girlfriend's psychology professor that all shrinks get into the profession with some form of clinical issue. My ex was a narcissist and obsessive compulsive disorder. I've learned not to trust psychologists. And the psychologists of the past who are the forefathers of the profession have some seriously deluded ideas.
Teaching school children to read was a "perversion" and high literacy rate bred "the sustaining force behind individualism."
