Canada will benefit for warmer weather. It will be nice to not have snow that early. A year ago, September 15th, the day I got pinned to LTC, we had snow. Last May 1-2 we had a foot of snow at Wainwright. I won't miss the cold weather. We already have winter wheat. We have had increasing rainfall. Ironically, this has been the coldest summer I can recall. We usually get 2 weeks of 90F weather. This year we have had maybe one day that hit 85 and today it hit 80F. I know Alaska had a heat wave recently. I am not worried. My only threat is tornadoes. In the last ice age, Edmonton was under hundreds of feet of ice and glaciers were the norm here. In February, I was stranded at the Seattle USO for 2 days because of the coldest weather in decades. February was the 2nd coldest month on record. Yes, this can destabilize the world but with Wars in Yemen, Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya and elsewhere, It is a small world after all(Disney Its a Small World)

Climate change is happening even if we all disappeared right this second. Taxing the crap out of natural gas and gasoline and doing a Manhattan Project to get us all to go electrical or some other form of propulsion in the next 10 years is folly. According to dr. Judith Curry, the difference between the global warming without doing anything and doing something is 3/10 of 1 degrees Celsius drop (after 50 years) after spending trillions to switch over to non- fossil fuel net zero renewable sources. This is because of the heat stored in the Ocean. I think she means the Ocean is a big capacitor. Canada is five years ahead of the US and three provinces are fighting the Canadian Trudeau schizophrenic government to not be forced to have carbon taxes because it's a violation of provincial rights. Bottom line up front, don't go extreme green new deal because it really won't make that much difference. It may clean up the environment and not have to have diesel or gasoline fumes or coal-fired s o o t, but it won't make much difference in lowering the climate increase because we are in between ice ages.

LTC (Join to see) - I remember 77 vividly… :) We were ice skating on the Lackawanna River, that is a small fast moving river that never freezes in my hometown area. Those were the days…

Most environmental legislation pushed through by the left contain elements of some agenda based on egalitarianism. They blame events like Flint Creak on inequality (only poor affected) not the policies (mismanagement) of the Democrats they elected. It's a big part needed in order to install a socialist regime as being equal equates to not being special or having you own identity. All identity based constructs like wealth, gender and religion are forfeited for the sake of the nameless mass.

I agree we have climate change. What I disagree with is that we have proof that humans are responsible or that we can effectively change it. In fact NASA recently said that the change is due to 1. Earth's orbit and 2. Changes in the sun's radiation. Now tell me how we "fix" those.
