I have never been a fan of SNOPES but I didn't realize they tried to check Babylon Bee and other irony/humor sites.

Yes, I have been following this. I have no use for Snopes. Their idea of fact checking has little to do with facts. They gave a positive fact check of Joe Biden's medal pinning story because"even though he gothe place, the service, the reason for the medal and numerous other things wrong, the person does in fact exist, so they gave him a mostly correct rating. Just the latest example of their factless fact checking!

I was corrected by a good Army friend on one of my posts. What he based his correction on was a Fact Check by Snopes. I supplied my research findings which backed up my posts and informed him that Snopes was a leftist organization carrying water for the left. I asked him to do the research and verify it for himself. He no longer uses Snopes as a fact check.

SFC Domingo M. - I learned quite some time ago that Snopes is motivated more by the Leftist agenda than any real desire to assert facts. Any time someone bases a comment on something Snopes says, I have to laugh!

Col Carl Whicker - "All" these organization like Snopes are the creation of George Soros ( at least he provides their funding) who is hell bent on destroying America. His money is keeping them alive along with others and working to influence Americans who will not take the time to do research for themselves to get the truth.

SNOPES tries to act like a camel poking its snout under tents for myriad reasons :-)
That being said it is challenging to find confirmation about "news." I tend to use a few techniques to verify after decades of experience.
Last century there multiple good search engines [focused on areas of information] and they were gobbled up this century.

The first and only Fort the Right had (Fox News) is now also falling prey to the left. I don't quite know the reason why but they are losing many of the initial warriors for the right and bringing onboard leftists like Donna Brazil who was caught red handed feeding Hillary Clinton the Questions which would be asked at the Presidential debates.
