I am surprised she was still Ambassador after President Trump took office. Traditionally, a new President picks new cabinet officers, staffs, secretary's and ambassador officers from the old administration and replaces them all with his own choices. From Bush to Obama replaced everyone without cause. Trump did not do this completely and kept some people from the Obama generation. If she was not to his liking and not performing to his policies etc. he has every right to replace her. But ignoring the truth the lib. news media wanted to portray her firing as sexist and unjustified. Never, ever claiming the same when Obama fired prior appointed ambassadors. A little one sided reporting?
Oh for sure!

Ambassadors serve at the pleasure of the president. They would do well to remember that.

Just taking all the impeachment stuff off the table, if you are an ambassador bad mouthing the POTUS you're going to get fired.

Likely her ethics warning bells were going off, not least of which were starting an investigation on a political opponent and being ordered to work with the president's personal private attorney. A better tactic may have been to quit when it got to bad and gone to Congress. But I understand it can be hard to quit a job based on ethics instead of thinking you can fix it.
