Please with your GREAT wisdom explain to us naives the past and current geo-political situation with the Kurds and Turkey. Please go into detail how the fall of the Ottoman Empire and the subsequent drawing of the current borders by the then British Empire has affected the region's politics and wars. Lastly, please touch on how removing probably no more than 50 US Special Operations Forces from that immediate area with an Advisory Role so they do not get killed in a Blue on Green event by Turkish Forces is a bad thing.
Do you remember when the Obama Administration drew the red line in the sand and the Syrians jumped right over it? What was "The Great One's" response to that? Nothing....
Too bad the Turkish military's coup attempt failed, there might be a moderate running Turkey now and this probably would have been avoided.

SPC Angela Burnham - Oh please do tell us specifically how you know those Kurdish soldiers are noble? Do you have an inside iggy on the group or groups that no one else does? Let me tell you about "noble" Kurds that blew up a GI bar outside of Incirlik AB Turkey circa 1990. They were "noble" because at least they had the common courtesy to do it while it was unoccupied. Why don't you go and join a "noble" Kurdish militia, be careful though. There are several Kurdish groups identified by the US as "noble" terrorist organizations. Oh please do share with us your utterly brilliant insight that you so magically have.

Oh I wouldn't dare, I'll leave that to our President and his "unmatched wisdom". Maybe he can send some of those brand new Sherman battle tanks over there, or maybe he can send some minutemen from the revolutionary war to occupy Turkey's air bases. Anythings possible.

Why this childish middle school name calling? I'm disgusted with these comments. For your information, the Kurds could of/would of/should of/ been a country after WWI as they had been before - Kurdistan. The French and British divided up the Ottoman Empire into fiefs and Kurdistan was subdivided into parts in Turkey, Iran, and Iraq, all divided by the French and British. That's why Lawrence of Arabia refused his knighthood.

LTC (Join to see) - I already answered the question. And I never said anything about OMB. Strawman targets all the way down.

You are correct. Had the coup attempt by the Turkish military been successful there would be a moderate in charge of Turkey now.

So our ally Turkey is wrong for wanting to put an end to terrorism by the PKK? Or are we wrong for not openly supporting an Independent Kurdistan? Democrats have to choose here between the two. Can't ignore both and point the finger at POTUS. Long standing State Department Policy SET BY THE DEMOCRATS IS AGAINST AN INDEPENDENT KURDISTAN. We all know what the Kurds are really fighting for and it is not a Democratic Syria. POTUS Is adhereing to Democratic Party directives here in my opinion and they are all shooting at him for it.

SPC Angela Burnham - and yet the first response of the Kurdish forces South of the Turkish border to the invasion was to launch Mortar and Artillery across the border into Turkish civilian areas.........what does that tell you? Do we want American Soldiers supporting that?

MAJ Bryan Zeski - It's in almost every newspaper publication of the fighting. Below is a cut and paste from the Washington Post by an AP Reporter: "Two mortars fired from Syria have landed in a Turkish town along the border, wounding at least two people.
An Associated Press journalist said at least two government buildings were hit by the mortars in Sanliurfa province’s border town of Akcakale.
Numerous ambulances rushed to the scene following the attack. At least two people were taken to hospitals.
Turkish media said mortars were fired from the town of Tel Abyad in northeastern Syria.
Syrian Kurdish fighters have struck at least five different Turkish borders towns with dozens of mortars since Turkey launched a cross-border offensive against the group Wednesday.
Residents were asked to evacuate immediate border areas, remain indoors and be vigilant. Turkey has argued the operation as necessary for its national security."
Turkey’s invasion of northeastern Syria has been widely condemned.

Recent History of Turkey with Kurds !!.. Turkey was in peace talks with PKK! PKK changed their philosophies from communism to Democratic Confederalist and they vowed to not fight but Erodgan changed his mind in 2014 and started the war up after the fact that Kobane was being saved by US jets. Erodgan decided for more war. PKK have a mandate for peace if Turkey decides for peace but they do not. Instead Turkey created a coup de taut to put all their opposition in military into prison then they have been controlling their Kurdish legal opposition by lying and in-prisoning politicians, artist, students etc. Turkish govts supported Islamic fighters from Daesh/IS. Most of the ranks of their Turk militias / FSA are filled with IS fighters that left Syria in last 2 years. Turkey is a supporter of extreme Islamist . They want north Syria for its oil! YPG/YPJ have separate commands and USA have made sure they are not PKK commands. Rojavians kept their Peace.. Kurds always want peace and fair chance towards democracy ! Turkey AKP party does not. As a US Veteran I do not support Turkey in NATO!! We the People of the USA recognize treasonous acts of Trump and he will be dealt with. #BoycottTurkey !! Until democracy and equality returns to Turkey ! #FreeOscalan #OscalanisMandela #noflyzonerojave
