Why would anyone want to see a movie about a Leftist Hell? Entertainment, especially film entertainment is supposed to be an escape from reality. Why else were movie houses packed during the Great Depression when the price of admission was also the price of a meal? People went to movies to dream of a better world, a better life than the one to which they had been condemned. Granted, those of us living outside America's cities don't have as great a need to escape reality as do urban dwellers. We aren't dodging piles of poop to go shopping or visit our neighbors. Our children aren't being led in caterpillar chains around somnolent druggies and their discarded paraphernalia. Our government isn't taking away our means of self-defense and consigning us to permanent victim hood, well not totally, not yet. Still, the siren song of fantasy is appealing, even to us. Why subject ourselves to an bitter dose of reality?
