Good let the Russians play peace keeper for a while bring our boys home.

Russia will negotiate this better because of their different set of sensibilities. They are looking for what they can get out of this, pure and simple. Turkey and Syria are just tools to accomplish their goals of broader influence, irritating the US and possibly a source of income that allows them to work around sanctions. Where will that income come from? Not sand. I don't see any good coming from this.
