I find it telling that the Democrats are all about defeating President Trump. Seems that they are more concerned about personality more than substance. If it was a personality contest, I'd be voting for someone other than President Trump. But it isn't a personality contest... IS IT? Every time I start to think I want an alternative, all I have to do is listen to the lunacy of the DNC candidates.
It seems their platform is:
1) Defeat President Trump
2) Defeat President Trump
3) Defeat President Trump
4) Curtail the 2nd Amendment rights rights of law abiding gun owners
5) Defeat President Trump
6) Protect illegal Immigrants, including those whose criminality goes beyond illegal entry or unlawful residence.
7) Defeat President Trump
8) Crush entrepenuership through intrusive government over reach
9) Defeat President Trump
10) Use the tax code to stop me from eating meat
11) Use regressive taxes to further impoverish those who are not part of the political elite
12) Nationalize medicine, thus reducing the supply of medical providers while simultaneously increasing the demand for medical services
13) Use the tax code to force me to pay for other peoples' college education.
14) Surrender American sovereignty to international organizations.

SSG Robert Mark Odom - That is not the point of the article. I was not attempting a "what about Obama" argument. I suggest a more deliberate reading. The article clearly states that President Obama should NOT have been impeached for violations of the emoluments clause, and the reasons why NOT. The author then extends the same reasoning to President Trump.
In July of this year, a three judge panel of the 4th US circuit of Appeals unanimously threw out a lawsuit alleging President Trump violated the Emoluments Clause, stating:
"The case was so weak that... it readily provokes the question of whether this action against the President is an appropriate use of the courts."
The mere fact that a foreign business does business with any part of Trump enterprises does not in and of itself constitute a violation of the emoluments clause. Anyone making an allegation must show that the emolument was given in consideration of a quid pro quo involving the use of the powers of the office. So I ask you again, in what way is President Trump violating the emoluments clause?

Dems are too divided, same as the Nation, and it matters when you're trying to cram 3 candidates with almost equal support into 1 slot, 2 if they award #2 with VP slot. Unless real damage is done by the impeachment (if it ever happens) to POTUS Trump, it will likely be a repeat of 2016. The Dem vote will be divided and they will likely lose. That's just my opinion based on what I see currently. All bets are off WRT impeachment testimony. Only 5% of Biden's voters in Iowa are under 45. That says a lot on the divide and demographics of the campaign. They should remember how many purposely didn't vote due to questionable treatment of Sanders by DNC in 2016. This may again turn into a case of "here's your nominee, like it or not, and forget your guy" because you need to get behind the "Party" choice. That dog didn't hunt in 2016 and likely won't in 2020. Politics is dynamic though, and a year is a long time.
