Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - Really? Because it is easier to conduct relations when you can form some level of amiable personal relationship, even if your global objectives don't align.

Wouldn't it be nice if our DNC and RNC elite could accept social invitations from each other? Something might get done.

Maj John Bell Well our global relations don't align and if I were going into an election think I'd avoid anything that could add to the accusations already out there.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - Sorry I meant don't align. I fixed it.

That being said, I don't think "giving a damn about what anybody else thinks" is one of our President's strengths. I'm pretty sure that's why many support him, and he knows it.

Of course Trump should go. Those people helped get him elected and he needs to show his gratitude and patronage to their cause.

You know, back in 2010 Barrack Obama was invited to attend. He offered to send Joe Biden instead.
Putin said no thanks.
