Sometimes they are truthful! If they really cared about minority groups it wouldn't just be an election time stunt to get a vote.

Not true. All politicians who seek office may have an altruistic agenda, but once elected most succumb to the siren song of celebrity and power and seek only to remain

I agree, but most of them use local politics as a springboard onto the national scene. Some of them have never held a job, they went into politics after college following their families footsteps.
