MAJ Eugene Chu: Given the amount of fraud and online hacking into accounts, etc. this is really important information. Most people are not aware that you can freeze your credit reports for free. This makes it more difficult for fraudulent loans, credit cards, etc. being taken out in your name because no information goes out from the credit bureaus to loan companies. You can unfreeze the credit reports when necessary to apply for loans.
And one other thing, if you have kids then you need to check to see if they have a credit report as well. You would be surprised at the number of children who have credit cards, etc. because someone was able to get their personal information and open up accounts. I've seen that happen way too many times in my office and parents' jaws drop when they find out about it.

So many divorces have ruined credit ratings. I took the high road during my divorce, but I am financially ruined now. I am a mere financially ruined man who was bound by values.
