One of my finest former Soldiers was in the 7th ID and in Panama for the whole duration.
I can't say enough good things about SFC "Iron" Mike Palmer.
Every year on this day, he and his buddies from that unit write amazing tributes to their fallen brother SGT William D Gibbs, killed just after midnight on 20 DEC 1989 near a forgotten airfield in a forgotten war.
Well, they never forget. And as a result, neither do I.
