These seven new laws don't seem unreasonable. I thought they were trying to permanently confiscate guns from American citizens.
●Enact universal background checks on private gun sales.
●Require an owner to report the loss or theft of a firearm within 24 hours.
●Give local governments the authority to enact gun laws of their own, such as banning weapons in public buildings.
●Create a “red flag” law, or extreme risk protective order, under which authorities can temporarily seize firearms from someone deemed a threat to themselves or others.
●Limit handgun purchases to one per month, a policy that had been in effect in Virginia until 2012.
●Tighten the law prohibiting access to firearms for someone subject to a protective order.
●Make it a felony to “recklessly” leave a firearm within reach of anyone age 18 or younger, up from the current age of 14.

Those laws are "nose under the tent" laws, which, if we allow them to go unchallenged, will lead to far more onerous laws in the future. These are their first steps to get us to accept "reasonable" gun control, which will ultimately result in prohibition.

SGT Steve McFarland Note they haven’t passed a single law that has taken all weapons from Americans or reversed 2A since Sandy Hook happened. Mostly laws to close any loopholes in that state, city or county that could help reduce some violence. I mean just apply your logic to other constitutional rights like voting and 1st amendment. How many laws states keep adding in regards to those, either to expand or limit those rights?

You cannot have a patchwork of local laws on firearms. We have enough problems with a patchwork of states. And it is unreasonable and a violation of the 2nd imo

Don't believe in the Red Flag law, just a way for some ex, or other person who has a grudge against them to lie and make up a story against them to get their guns taken away. Then have to fight to get them back

Much like when someone falsely accuses one of rape, assault, resisting arrest, etc. We all hope the law investigates the allegations thoroughly before seeking court action by a prosecutor or judge. And that there are equal consequences for false reporting.
