V.A. says it is taking action to stem suicides, help Blue Water Navy vets on benefits

The VA has introduced a new program called "Solid Start" to help make the transition into civilian life easier and in turn, combat Veteran suicide. The program consists of a series of phone calls from the VA to establish a relationship and maintain an open line of communication so that Veterans can be connected to benefits and partner organizations that may prove valuable.
