It’s a proven fact genocides occurred in the past, occurring now, and will occur in the future.

MAJ Ken Landgren I won’t say anything else other than to ask you if any good actions were ever taken on behalf of our Native Americans?

MAJ Ken Landgren - Thank you for giving me that. Maybe there is hope for our world. I was starting to believe that way too many people in our world won’t give any credit to the perceived other side, even when they win the debate. I’m on your side on this one, but the way I am: I have to look at all the data before I reach my opinion, good or bad. I guess I’ve just written too may environmental assessments where I’m forced to look and discuss all sides regardless of how I feel before I render an opinion, to the point of it’s how I am now.

I just had a gut feeling that I had an advantage because for one reason I saw the Ken Burn’s documentary called The West. It can be seen on Netflix. It will describe the absolute horror of their treatment. They were often treated worse than animals. Their land was taken away. We gave them land but that was taken away. We stripped them of the animals they hunted. We essentially destroyed their culture. They were forced onto reservations and often they went hungry. We destroyed their culture and proceeded to destroy their spirit. It was sad. SFC (Join to see)

Is there an answer for this issue? If we ignore it, we are considered cold hearted. If we get involved, we are considered "world's policemen." What should we do?

MSG Stan Hutchison - You are completely right on tis one, the line is hard to find. Maybe sometimes there is no line, it’s just a mess all over. What bothers me is that they aren’t even talking about this stuff in the debates. Do we know where any of them stand? Heck, it’s been over 25 years since I bounced around the globe for the Army (probably longer for you), and yet here we are discussing these issues rationally and logically, and the people running to be our Commander in Chief don’t give these issues the time of day. I don’t know.

SFC (Join to see) - You have a valid point. Maybe I can find something on their web sites. I'll let you know.

Yes, it has been a bit longer. I retired in 1986. Almost 35 years ago.
