This has absolutely nothing with the Coronavirus or travel restrictions. But you said, " (Oh that’s Right- He donates each salary!)" which opened the door.

Several analyses have calculated that Trump, as of October 2019, incurred around $109 million in taxpayer spending related to his golf outings, which is close to the amount of money a president would make if he were being paid $400,000 annually for 278.5 years.

"The president spends a lot of time on the links, almost exclusively at his own properties. At the end of October, Trump made his 224th visit to one of his 17 golf courses since assuming office three years ago"

"In total, Trump’s golf games—which include paying the salaries and expenses of his Secret Service detail—have so far cost taxpayers an estimated $110,000,000, according to TrumpGolfCount.com."

After three years in Office, Pres. Trump has played as much golf as Pres. Obama did in TWO TERMS! Over half of Pres. Obama's rounds were played on Military Installations. With only two exceptions, all of Pres. Trump's games were played on Courses at Resorts which he owns. He stayed at those Resorts, which required that his Staff and Security Detail also stay and pay full price for lodging and food.

He hasn't given up anything. We're paying him more money to play golf than any fifty Presidents put together!

"Trump won't play golf as President. Believe me..."

People always whine about Presidential recreation however two things are important here, 1) Most of the staff and vehicles he will utilize are on staff and paid for, whether he golfs or stays at the White House and 2) Are Presidents in prison? We are coming up on sixty years since Kennedy's assignation and it will be 30 years this time next year for the attempt on Reagan's, do you want to go through that again?

First, let’s not ignore the obvious. During the 2016 campaign, Donald Trump promised that, if he were elected, he would not be playing ANY golf. He’d be too busy in the Oval Office taking care of business for the American people.

As of 3/8/2020, Pres. Trump made 249 visits to his golf courses in three years. By comparison, Pres.Obama went golfing 306 times in eight years!

So, the first issue is not where he plays golf. It’s that, after promising multiple times during his campaign that he wouldn’t be playing golf at all, he still does.

Point 1: most of his staff and vehicles are already paid for, so it costs the same whether he stays in the White House or goes to play golf.

Response: staff salaries are already paid for. That’s true. Cost of transportation for the President, his staff, his security detail, all of the support functions required for him to travel, etc. are not included.

It costs about $200,000 an hour to operate Air Force One

The cost for his Security at the White House is static, as are the personnel. They are there whether he is or not.

Cost for traveling security varies. The more the President travels, the more security costs.

Basic Security at a golf course on a military installation is already taken care of. Basic security at a private golf club is nonexistent.

The President does not ride in a standard golf cart. It must be specially modified and shielded. Several additional golfcarts for the security detail must also be specially modified.

Lodging and food for the president and his entourage: Cheaper at a military installation than at a high-end golf resort. Or, stated another way, MUCH more expensive at Mar-a-Lago.
Sub-point: all that money spent at resorts owned by Donald Trump goes to Donald Trump.

Point 2: You refer to Pres. Kennedy‘s death and the assault on President Reagan, but I’m not sure what you’re saying. If you are primarily concerned for the safety of the president, then he should either stay at the White House or go to golf courses on military installations.

If you’re saying that he should have the best possible golf outing that our money can buy, then by all means, he should certainly go to high-end golf resorts. But that choice is going to cost us more. A lot more!

(During Pres. Trump’s first year in office, the Secret Service spent its entire annual budget in just nine months, most of it on golf outings. Just sayin’.)
