Despite the Buttigieg campaign's best efforts, Democrat voters discovered that Buttigieg is, in fact, both white and male. Buttigieg came out as white, withdrew from the race, and apologized to his former supporters in a speech today.

I find this to be incredibly suspicious as he had won 1/3 of the primaries thus far and was a good speaker. I am thinking more and more the Dems have their chosen ones and he was simply a sacrificial lamb to raise money for the DNC. Personally I believe the first gay President will be elected by Republicans.

Perhaps you mean the first openly gay president. Statistically speaking, it is almost certain we have already had one.
I have no doubt he was pressured to drop to help concentrate the more centrist votes behind Biden in order to stop Sanders. I'm sure it would be the other way around, had Buttigieg won. I'm also sure Klobuchar is getting the same treatment. Who knows,Pete may have gotten a pledge for the Veep spot for doing this.
I thought nothing would ever come close to 2016 as a popcorn year for watching politics, but this one is shaping up to be very entertaining, also.

I agree with you 100%. I still also think the Republicans that do not focus on identity politics will be the first to elect a gay or female president.
