In other not a surprize at all to any rational thinking person.
Italy has a population of about 60.36 million
The US has 328.2 million
Of COURSE we have had more cases, we have more people.
Italy has 2,518 cases per million in population
The US has 1,611 cases per million in population
Hey look, FEWER cases when you consider population size.....
Italy has had 322 deaths per million in population
The US has 62 deaths per million in population
Hey look, FEWER deaths when you consider population size.....
Italy has tested 963,473 people,,wow thats a lot...
The US has tested 2,693,758 people, wow thats a lot more...
Guess that reporter just missed those facts
I mean its not like its readily available for anyone that wants to be informed and not blindly read media headlines and think they are.

I would even take the number of deaths with a grain of salt. The German's low death rate is driven largely because of some rather strict standards for calling a death Covid 19 related, so if the patient test positive for Covid, but actually died of liver cancer, it wasn't counted as a Covid 19 Death. If you look at the CDC site now, they have started to give total deaths from Covid 19 and Covid Death's with Pneumonia, the later being a more realistic number of total fatalities. They are still arguing that Pneumonia deaths aren't being screened properly for Covid 19, and while I would think that would be a reasonable assumption prior to march, I suspect anyone with a fever, cough, or trouble breathing that shows up at a medical facility has been tested in the last month or so.

This is probably so by the mere fact of a lot of travel by American, and other countries citizens traveling in and out ofThe USA.Then too it be Ike the Bible says about The Trojan horse gift of American’s being the Great melting pot of the World, If I had to guess why .
