Air Force admits 'persistent and consistent racial' bias against black airmen, records show

In looking at the original GOA report - Figure 21 show that there was either no significance or actually less likelihood of conviction in general and special courts-martial by race and gender, without controlling for any other attributes for blacks when only considering race and gender. Seems if there was some sort of bias within the military justice system it would have manifested here.

Its not until other attributes are added into their multi regression analysis that a higher risk for black males is indicated within the military justice system. As such there may be other factors and or combinations of factors that need to be looked at.

A lot of data - as well as the report states things may not actually be as they are perceived. Same report showed that the military justice system punished males at a greater rate as well. In some branches 5x's higher than females so there may be an ever worse gender problem when it comes to UCMJ.
