Obama open mic slip: 'After my election I have more flexibility'

Throwback to a summit in Seoul in March 2012 / President Obama was caught on a hot mic talking to Russian President (at the time) Dimitri Medvedev. "This is my last election," Obama said. "After my election I have more flexibility."
"I understand," Medvedev is recorded replying. "I will transmit this information to Vladimir."

Pretty much a well known reality in US politics. What you can do before an election is different than what you can do when it is over.

Yes. He likely made promises to other nation leaders about readdressing his US foreign policies towards their countries when he’s re-elected. Guess he was undermining his own foreign policy.
