Not really. I got in fist fights in school a bit younger than 16 and my principal had a simple solution. Either 3 "licks" with his wooden paddle or 3 days of real suspension from school, meaning stay at home, not the in-school type. I don't know of anyone who picked suspension, and it worked out fine. Without police involvement.

Capt Gregory Prickett - I agree. I got into some fights in high school too. I think a lot of people have. If that resulted in police involvement it might have sunk my entire future before it even began.

Capt Gregory Prickett - I don't believe in Corporal Punished BUT I would make them do community service. I was paddled for not having a school book and it was supposed to be three times and it was my first.
In 5th grade we saw a boy paddled 50x swats and it was shocking and we hated Patrick Green. Students were terrified at the uneven application and for stupid stuff. Not fighting or anything. I had a school mate who was the best student in the class. He misplaced it his book. He was crying and it is ridiculous to paddle good kids. These are not exaggerations. In fact there is a book, Çalled !Reading, Writing and the Hickory Stick!
