The article states Hobbs shot at the officers and the officers shot back, Hobbs ran into some nearby woods. He then exited the woods and gave up.
I guess some on here think the officers should have executed him when he gave up

1SG (Join to see) - EVERY SINGLE DAY, people INITIATE deadly force assaults against police. From 2004 until 2017, the average is right around 60,000 a year. less than 1500 people per year are "killed" by police or less than 4% of contacts where deadly force (intentional or unintentional) is applied by either side. In those 60,000 violent confrontations about 390 police officers are killed. That death total includes:
_Deaths due to high speed auto accidents while fleeing police.
_Deaths by fleeing police and running into oncoming traffic, or falling from a height (jumping across the roof tops in urban settings), drowning while crossing water obstacles, etc.
_Deaths from chronic health conditions unknown by police but exacerbated by fighting with police.
_Deaths from firearms where the suspect initiated gun fire, or knife assaults.
_Deaths from unnecessary police action after the suspect is subdued.
etc. etc. etc.
_Of the victims of Police homicide Approximately
-52% of the victims were white (72% of general population)
-26% of the victims were black (12%)
-17% of the victims were Latino (12%)
-5% of the victims were "other" (4%)
The man wasn't lucky. White, Black, Latino, or other the odds are vastly in favor of NOT being killed in a violent confrontation with police. End of Story.

My point is, it is extremely difficult to shoot a moving person that is shooting at you. I asked you to try it since as a military veteran, the average American believes this is among your required skill set just like police officers.
