Of course she is a racist. A non racist would not have done what she did so vociferously. Her problems were she showed her racism and was caught. When I was serving in the army, I followed the philosophy that the more people who see me communicate, the more prudent I became. She showed her ass and suffers from it.

I hate what she said, I hate that flag, I hate that she has held these views. I don’t entirely believe her contrition is genuine. But if we don’t give people a chance to learn and grow and redeem themselves we’re just like her on a different side of the issue...

I absolutely agree. I'm not necessarily saying she didn't "black out" but it would be easier to give her a chance with a genuine apology.

So according to the article, “.. someone handed her a Confederate flag. She claims she didn’t fully know what it represented but assumed it was a symbol of unity”. Ok, fair enough. She seems stupid, so that might even be believable. However...

She did yell out, “KKK belief!”, while draping herself in that flag. And you can’t convince me that a non-mentally impaired adult (particularly in the South) doesn’t know exactly what the KKK stands for. So why should she be draping a symbol of unity, as she now claims, while yelling about KKK beliefs?
Unless she’s willing to admit that she’s actually mentally retarded, instead of just really really sorry, I don’t think I believe her apology.
