The US and England secured the Mediterranean Sea to choke the ressuply to the German forces in Borth Africa, and defeated the enemy on that continent. The noose was tightening, but we had to conduct an immense operation to force our entry into Europe to start the beginning of the end of Hitlers evil regime. D-Day was astronomically large and infinitely dangerous but it had to be done. So many died in the process to give momentum to follow on forces. It will never be forgotten how brave the men were and how much they sacrificed for the better good. Such lovely singers.
