All speculation, we never know how a new Justice will perform. It seems those confirmed by a Democrat administration, judges (interprets the Constitution) from a liberal perspective. The Republican choices, have a tendency to flip. My preference is and will remain, a Constitutional Textualist

What we mean to say is, that if SCOTUS interprets the law as written instead of modifying it from the bench, that will change the way liberals prefer to affect social change.
Now they will have to change law by, you know, legislation. And that might be unpopular.
