The Only things that came to Mind was "Patriotism the Last Refuge of a Scoundrel" Samuel Johnson and #1 from the 14 Defining Characteristics of Fascism: Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.

1SG (Join to see) - assuming the study was properly conducted, 1200 is actually more than enough to achieve an adequate representation.
There are some interesting formulas that calculate how seemingly small survey numbers can accurately represent large populations.
