There is one unit from the regiment that is still on active duty at Fort Sill (At least it used to be) they were the last of the "Polar Bear" units still on active duty.

The 27th Infantry regiment earned the nickname 'Wolfhounds' while participating in the campaign. There are two active battalions currently at Schofield Barracks.
